Phill Boas discusses the history and origins of the term referring to the 'green line' model which distinguishes between the rational (thinking) and non rational (feeling) world in organisations. Phill notes that those who can't engage with others' emotions or deal with their own emotions will be less effective in the workplace. The presentation discusses tests of emotional intelligence and progresses to an introduction of a four quadrant model for Emotional Intelligence which includes the domains of self awareness, other awareness, self management and managing others.
